What's already happening: The Surface Water Management division of Skagit County Public Works is responsible for managing, maintaining and improving the drainage systems within Skagit County. Our goals are to improve the quality of water that runs off into the Skagit and to reduce erosion and flooding problems by improving peoples' understanding of the importance of protecting stormwater quality, by helping them prevent spills and illegal dumping, and by helping them improve home and landscape practices.
